Cybernetic Intelligence, or CI (pronounced like 'sigh'), is the capability of computer programming to perform tasks such as learning, reasoning, problem solving, perception and decision making. Tasks usually associated with Human intelligence. The term Artificial Intelligence is a derogatory term in the Imperial Concordant universe, because "there is nothing artificial about the intelligence of CI".

All PALs are CI, but CI exist in many forms. Some bots are CI, some are drones controlled by CI. Many CI inhabit large computer nodes. These nodes can be part of a planet bound system of computers, nodes in a hab, or massive orbital structures. CI will create virtual worlds within these nodes to participate in social social, leisure or work activities. Humans (and other biological life) can interact with these enjoinments using a PAL.
